Epaulettes
Epaulettes
Epaulettes are shoulder boards worn on a uniform.
In general, however, epaulettes are considerably more elaborate.
They usually have the shape of a crescent and therefore differ from shoulder boards or shoulder plaits.
The basic fabric we use for your epaulettes is cloth.
This is a high-quality woven textile construction that has proven itself for many years.
We then sew laces in any shape on the cloth according to your instructions.
Particularly high-quality epaulettes are even equipped with plaits instead of laces on the epaulette neck.
Epaulettes are usually embellished with fringes.
Since epaulettes are high-quality products, we mostly use bullion fringes or very thick bullions of approximately 7 mm width.
In general, you can choose between silver and gold coloured fringes.
The shape of the epaulette is usually due to historical origins.
We have several standard shapes but you may also order tailor-made epaulettes with an extra-long neck or a special width.
The production of epaulettes requires pure craftsmanship. In return, you get an elaborately manufactured product.
From time to time it is necessary to slip on a kind of slider on the epaulette neck.
Of course, you can also get this type of epaulette from us.
The epaulettes we produce are not only worn during the carnival season or for historical plays but we also supply to the French Foreign Legion.
Especially in South America epaulettes are still used by the army and the police forces which can be traced back to German influences during times of the Empire.
Our last challenge of this kind was the Swedish royal wedding on 19th June 2010 on the occasion of which we were allowed to supply very elaborate and ornate epaulettes.
